At the BiH Memories Foundation, we're passionate about creating real change and uplifting the lives of Bosnian children. Today, we're thrilled to share an exciting announcement: our very first project in partnership with KJU Dom za Djecu bez Roditeljskog Staranja, an organization with a rich history of caring for children without parental care.
A Legacy of Compassion
Founded in 1900, KJU Dom za Djecu bez Roditeljskog Staranja has been a beacon of hope for generations of children in Bosnia. Over the years, it has evolved and grown, moving from different locations within Sarajevo. After the Second World War, it found its enduring home in Bjelava, where it continues to stand strong today. This remarkable institution is dedicated to providing comprehensive care, nurturing, education, and healthcare services to children who lack parental care and those whose development faces challenges due to family circumstances.
In addition to its central facility in Bjelava, KJU Dom za Djecu bez Roditeljskog Staranja has expanded its reach by establishing smaller family homes in various towns. Recently, a new chapter was written in the neighborhood of Ilidža, where a brand-new home was purchased and meticulously renovated to provide a warm and loving environment for 13 children, aged 6 to 15.

Project Details
Our inaugural project aims to raise the necessary funds to take the children on a special shopping trip. During this outing, each child will have the opportunity to select a new pair of shoes, jeans, shirts, and jackets for themselves. Beyond clothing, we'll be providing each child with a hygiene kit, complete with essential items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, and more. Additionally, we'll ensure they have an array of snacks to enjoy, adding a touch of joy to their day.
